“Chicos de Mi Barrio”

(My Neighborhood Kids)

This photographic work is meant to be a tribute to Venezuelan children. Especially, those who, having to grow up in humble rural communities, consume an important part of their days helping their parents in the daily activities which assure them to earn their living. What I find fascinating about them is the enthusiasm these kids fulfill their duties with and how they are able to share their free time having fun in such a simple way.

  1. Jaime, what a wonderful tribute you have posted for these children. I really can’t pick a favorite for they’re beautiful shots, all! Lessons to be learned from the beauty of these children, who bear such serious responsibilities, enjoying very simple pleasures in life.

  2. Hi. I agree with the other commenter, these are no easy pick. Still, I find the last picture most memorable. I mean, that determined poise in such a young kid! Something not easy to forget. 🙂

    • Thanks for stopping by and for taking the time to comment. I agree, this image has a special charm; for me, it’s the contrast between that determined poise of the kid you ‘ve mentioned and the compote he is enjoying!
