  1. Jaime, this is a beautiful interpretation of this week’s theme. The light is just gorgeous. I am a huge devotee of the performing arts, especially dramatic and musical theater. I would love to hear the story behind this image.

    • How nice Stacy! that’s one of my favorites themes to photograph; especially, folkdances. Everything began with my sister who is a Flamenco dancer and runs a school of Flamenco. Since she invited me, time ago, to take some pictures of her group in a show they were invited to participate, I felt in love with the magic of dancing stage shows.
This particular photo is part of a great story. The performing (dance interpretation) is a choreography in honor to Elide Vegas’ father, performed by herself (the beige dressed and short-cropped hair woman sat on the bench), her daughter (an extraordinary dancer, the girl in red in the dance couple), and the rest of the formidable dance troupe of the “Elide Vegas School of Dance”.

      • Jaime, I’ve never seen Flamenco being danced live – only in movies – but what a beautiful style of dance it is. Not being at all blessed with the ability to dance, I am in awe of those who can. It is certainly a skill I wish I had, even if just a bit, as I love the athleticism, grace, and pure freedom of expression that dancers possess. Thanks so much for sharing the wonderful backstory of this photo!
